The Kunstmuseum Bonn is one of Germany’s largest museums of contemporary art. Its characteristic building is part of Bonn’s renowned Museum Mile and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022. Herburg Weiland redeveloped the brand design, created the relaunch of the museum’s magazine and is in charge of all exhibition communication.
The new dynamic logo refers to the geometric design language of the museum’s architecture. It adapts responsively and flexibly to all analog and digital media as well as formats. Inspired by the monumental planar nature of the museum building, the design works with white space, creating plenty of room for the display of the artworks. The strict separation of text and images and the use of animations ensure that communication on all channels has a modern and contemporary feel.
