With the theater in the center of Cologne undergoing extensive renovations, the ensemble has been performing in the temporary venue of an old cable factory situated in the city’s multicultural Mülheim district. Moving their audience to this industrial complex and performing on a makeshift stage has posed a challenge of its own. The visual communication should bring new life to the humble cultural venue and radiate the theater’s renewed confidence.
The new corporate design captures the interplay between the theater and its surroundings with a voice that is loud, powerful and emotional. The bold colors and shapes, repeated in print, online and on-site lightboxes, give way to the theater’s new presence in downtown Cologne, leaving a powerful mark on Mülheim’s up and coming Carlswerk district.
